St. Petri Cathedral is over 1,200 years old. The cathedral received its early Gothic character in the first half of the 13th century. Particularly noteworthy are its oldest parts, the west and east crypts and its important organs.

St. Petri Cathedral is one of the landmarks of Bremen. The current appearance of the cathedral is in the Gothic style after it was rebuilt several times. In the imposing building there is a cathedral museum and a lead cellar.

St. Peter's Cathedral in Bremen was built in the Romanesque style on the foundations of older buildings from the 11th century onwards and was rebuilt and extended in the Gothic style from the 13th century onwards. This church building is made of sandstone, and in hidden places in the older parts it is also made of tuff.
