It is the classic fortress: massive walls, small windows, a moat to the north, south and west, a cliff to the east. Externally, it is well-kept; inside, it is unsafe, gloomy, full of passages, stairs, vaults and corridors. Very fascinating.

The construction of the fort was begun in 1888 with the aim of completing the defense line with the border with Austria-Hungary (located, approximately, where there is now the regional border between Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige, at the time Austrian territory).
Completed in 1913, it was heavily armed during the First World War, but was used almost exclusively for the quartering of troops. In fact, he did not participate in any combat. Only a few shots were fired at the Austrian planes flying towards Verona with the aim of bombing it.

Today the fort is private property and is in a state of partial abandonment. However, it is used as a tourist destination and playing field for soft air teams.
