The fortified church with its thick walls and pointed towers is really impressive. The reason for the establishment in the 15th century were previous raids by the Nuremberg troops. Effeltrich has the best preserved fortified church in Upper Franconia. In the immediate vicinity of the church is the mighty dancing linden tree with its sweeping canopy of leaves. Definitely worth seeing!

The fortified church Effeltrich was built at the end of the 15th century as a fortified church after Nuremberg troops had twice robbed the place.
