Not only during its transformation into the “most beautiful Advent calendar in the world” in the run-up to Christmas is it worth taking a closer look at the Forchheim town hall, which dates back to the late Middle Ages. The main building of the town hall with its impressive half-timbering dates from 1402. The municipal building followed later. The building owes some carved figures and scenes to the great master Ruhalm, all of which are the origin of small stories and anecdotes. The little man in the rafters of the magistrate's building, for example, practices a very unusual defensive measure against possible attackers: he stretches out his bare backside towards them. But the interior of the town hall also deserves the viewer's attention. There you can marvel at the small and large town hall halls, which bear the appearance of times long past, as well as a wooden spiral staircase whose spindle is made from a single oak trunk. Due to renovation work, it is unfortunately not possible to view the interior at the moment.
