The Ettelsberg summit and its northern slope are covered by a high heath landscape, the other mountain slopes are wooded. On the north slope is part of the Willingen ski area, for example with the Ettelsberg cable car leading from Willingen up the mountain. Several forest and hiking trails open up the mountain.
The 59 m high Hochheideturm, inaugurated in 2002, is near the mountain peak and offers a good all-round view over large parts of the Rothaargebirge, Hochsauerland and Upland. The glazed viewing platform at a height of 875 m can be reached either with an eight-person elevator or via 241 steps. There is a climbing wall at the tower.

In summer, you can see paragliders at takeoff. In good weather you have a wonderful view on the viewing platform of the Hochheide Tower. On the Ettelsberg there are many beautiful hiking trails.

Once you get to the top, "Siggi's" legendary Ettelsberg hut, the Kyrill path, our adventure playground with many attractions as well as the Ettelsbergsee and the Hochheide with extensive hiking and walking opportunities await you. The panoramic cabins travel particularly slowly in the stations, allowing relaxed and barrier-free boarding and alighting, even with a stroller. Our new 8-seater K1 chairlift also offers biker families the highest level of comfort. From there, get into our MTB ZONE Bikepark Willingen and use the various bike routes down into the valley. Special attraction:
The 62 m high Willingen Hochheideturm has been standing on the Ettelsberg since autumn 2002. At 875 m above sea level, its platform is the highest viewing point in north-west Germany.
Young and old can reach the glass viewing platform by elevator or experience its impressive height step by step on the 241 steps of the staircase. Let your gaze wander over the mountains of Sauerland, Waldecker Land and often far beyond, as far as Kassel. The tower is open all year round. And: free to use with train tickets.
