A detour is definitely worth it. If the lift is not closed due to bird brood! Otherwise you have a great view over the Fichtelgebirge, to the Schneeberg and Ochsenkopf. The arrival and departure is also a bit demanding, but towards the Sophiehenquelle (S 1), but with the appropriate concentration and body tension, it can be easily driven!

Before Lamitzbrunnen turn left in the direction of "Hoher Stein", single trail, watch out for rocks, but mobile.
A steep ladder leads up to the Hoher Stein. Magnificent view of the Fichtelgebirge, but be careful, you should be free from giddiness.

Coming from Benk, you will probably have to push the bike the last few meters - at least without the motor. The next km towards the Lamitzquelle is also challenging but doable. Anyone who is at the top and dares to climb the steep ladder will be rewarded with a panoramic view.
