For the Partnachklamm you have to take your time. Very loud and wet it is in the gorge, here rain gear should be taken.

If you have to go through the gorge from 18:00, you will not pay anything anymore. Otherwise, no matter which side of the full price applies.

The worth seeing Partnachklamm is approx. 700 m long, its walls rise up to 80 m. Through tunnels and passages blasted into the rock, it is also accessible in winter, whereby the bizarre ice formations of this natural beauty give a special charm. You can cross the gorge over an iron bridge 68 m above the river, built in 1914. It connects the local mountain area with the Wamberg. Every year, the Partnachklamm counts over 200,000 visitors.

Lined dogs are welcome.

May-June and October: 8:00 - 18:00
July-September: 8:00 - 19:00
November-April: 9:00 - 18:00

Children and adolescents 6 to 16 years 2.00 €

In the Partnachklamm drips and trickles the water even after a long time without precipitation from the walls, so sturdy shoes and rain gear is recommended. Attention, the route mostly runs in tunnels or galleries, and is in places lower than 2 m.

The main path through the Partnach Gorge leads right along the water (not on a high-altitude trail, which also exists). This gorge has an entrance fee and is a bit short (and boring) for my taste. Other gorges worth seeing include the Höllental Gorge, Leutasch Gorge, and Hüttlebach Gorge near Krün.

A wonderful gorge located just behind the Garmisch-Partenkirchen ski jumping stadium. The gorge is also open in winter and the huge icicles make it a particularly impressive experience. From the car park at the stadium, you can reach the gorge on foot, by bike or by horse-drawn carriage (or horse-drawn sleigh in winter).
If you are not here for the gorge but for beautiful mountain tours, you can easily bypass the gorge using alternative paths.
On my way over the Kälbersteig, I hiked along the alternative path in the morning and on the way back in the evening at "twilight" (it is a little darker in the gorge than outside) I walked through the gorge, where two cyclists overtook me. However, they had to get off to overtake them and I had to press myself against the wall.
