The paths are great, you always have enough space and in winter when the temperatures are frosty you have "the green lung" almost all to yourself. Speaking of which: it is possible to run a marathon (42,195 km) here without any problems. Because everything is very spacious. And the cozy beer gardens invite you to relax and linger if you feel a bit weak. - The total area is about the size of 525 football fields. Or: Munich Airport is four times larger. Depending on your "viewpoint" (in the truest sense of the word), it's not far to the city center, keyword: sightseeing and shopping.

A little tip: pack your running shoes. You could even run a marathon here if you feel like it. But be careful! The tempting beer gardens might shorten your run a bit.

                              For orientation: The garden is huge! About the size of 525 football pitches. And even if you're in the middle of greenery, the city center with all its sights and shops is just a stone's throw away.

                              The English Garden, whether in the busier southern part or the quieter northern part, is Munich's green heart. Whether for sports, lazing around or a cool beer in the beer garden - there's something for everyone here.

                              The whole thing is in the northeast of Munich, right on the beautiful Isar. The story behind it? The garden is inspired by English landscape gardens and was one of the first parks on the continent that was open to everyone. And to this day it attracts millions of visitors every year.

                              But be careful! The main road, the Isarring, divides the garden into the southern and northern parts. While the southern part takes you closer to the city center, the northern part invites you to linger longer.
