End of October 2016: The castle ruin is again open to walk! Yippee!
An adventurous-looking wooden staircase leads to the upper castle. From there you have a really wonderful panoramic view. Today over a Palatinate Forest shining in sunlight in the most wonderful autumn colors.

Like almost all castles in the Palatinate Forest, it was built on red sandstones as a rock castle. It was built in the 11th century as a successor to Wiligartsburg and to protect the villages.

very beautiful rock castle with an adventurous ascent. Unfortunately, at the time of the hike the castle was not accessible due to renovations.
