      Small idyllic place with about 150 inhabitants. With music festival, an almost 1000 year old oak tree, an old smithy and a village jug, all in the middle of a wonderful landscape.

        An artist village as it is in the book. At the entrance to the village there is a spring hidden in the forest from which the water flows into the Este. And on the other side of the road, tombs of the Bötersheim family from the previous century are also hidden in the forest. Wildly romantic and a little creepy.

          Bötersheim is slowly becoming my favorite place along the Este. From here you can hike well in both directions along the Este. In the direction of Hollenstedt even on both sides. The place itself decelerates as soon as you arrive. Here time seems to have stood still and bliss has arrived.
