✈ "Berlin-Tempelhof Airport was one of the first commercial airports in Germany, alongside the Berlin Johannisthal and Staaken airports, and started regular service in 1923. Until its closure on October 30, 2008 [4] it was one alongside Berlin-Tegel and Berlin-Schönefeld of three international airports in the Berlin area and was called the Central Airport, where around 350,000 passengers were handled in 2007.

Former buildings of Tempelhof Airport, which was closed on October 30, 2008.
The airport officially opened in 1923. But there have been several flight demonstrations earlier on the former parade ground at Tempelhofer Feld.

The Tempelhofer Feld site has been accessible to the general public as a sports park since 2010.

The former airport buildings are partly used for exhibitions or trade fairs (e.g. the running fair of the Berlin Marathon), but also as exhibition space for the technology museum.
