This Italian fort, on the border with the Empire of Austria-Hungary, remained unfinished: at the beginning of the Great War, in fact, the steel domes for the battery positions were missing, which had been ordered from a German foundry which had become, meanwhile, enemy! However, it was equally armed with howitzers in remote external positions, given its important position which kept the Austro-Hungarian forts of Folgaria under fire. The particular and large horseshoe-shaped tunnel behind the fort, sheltered from the enemy, probably sheltered the howitzers which were brought to the square if necessary.

It was blown up by the Italians themselves so as not to leave it in enemy hands as the Strafexpedition advanced.
