The current Winterhude comprehensive school was built around 1930 under the direction of Fritz Schumacher as a primary school; the school is on Meerweinstrasse in the Jarrestadt.

The school in the Jarrestadt, which was built at the same time as the design by Fritz Schumacher, was opened in 1930.

The school was planned as part of the plans for Jarrestadt, a large urban area in the 1920s. The building is symmetrical, which resulted from the use as a girls 'and boys' school with separate rooms.

The building is shaped by the tendencies of new building. The load-bearing reinforced concrete skeleton visibly structures the facade. The surfaces are bricked up, window bands emphasize the horizontal, and the upper end is a flat roof. According to future-oriented pedagogical knowledge, the school was given rooms for specialist teaching in natural sciences, art and works.

The building is now used as a comprehensive school.
