Here's something to marvel at: one of the few remaining rain moors is allowed to thrive here undisturbed. Unique flora and fauna, easily explored on a boardwalk.

This one especially because it offers a clear view of the Holy Mountain.

On the Goetheweg in the direction of Brocken you reach the "Great Torfhausmoor", which you can explore over a wooden walkway. This is the headwaters of the Radau, a tributary of the Oker, in which the moor was formed around 3,000 years ago and reached its present size. The Große Torfhausmoor is one of the oldest raised bogs in the high Harz.

There are different rounds that you can hike. From 2km to 4km to the Brocken.
Torfhaus is recommended as a starting point. There are parking spaces, restaurants and toilets.
The paths are only partially suitable for prams.
