    The Meldorfer Bucht is a local recreation area with a view of the sea. It extends from Büsum in the north to Friedrichskoog in the south. The stretch of coast, also known as Dithmarscher Bay, is comprehensively developed for tourism. Hikers and cyclists can enjoy the view of the sea and the crab cutters in the distance on an excursion. Since many birds are native here, you can watch birds in the water or in high degrees around the clock. The vast stretch of land promises peace and relaxation.

        Very beautiful region with great sections in a wonderful natural landscape. "During several severe storm surges at the end of the Middle Ages and at the beginning of modern times, the bay expanded further and further into the rather low marsh areas and almost reached the town of Meldorf, which was built on a ridge. It was not until the 16th century that the first new land was reclaimed and the first dykes in the bay."
