Ruadh-stac Mor is a mountain in the Scottish Highlands. It's one of the Munros in the traditional Fisherfield 6 circuit (now 5 after the demotion of one of the 6). Although a small Munro, at only 918m in height, Ruadh-stac Mor is a difficult mountain to climb due it's remote setting. Deep in the Fisherfield wilderness, you can get a real sense of escapism here. We used Shenavall bothy as a base to climb the Fisherfield munros.
Ruadh Stac Mòr is a Munro that lies just 1km east of A'Mhaighdean, usually regarded as Scotland's most remote Munro.
Usually climbed as part of a round of the Fisherfield Six, Ruadh Stac Mòr is a very good viewpoint if perhaps slightly dwarfed in this respect by it's near neighbour.
The easiest approach is from Poolewe combined with A'Mhaighdean where a mountain bike can significantly save tome on the approach and return. most people doing the Fisherfield Six will stay at Shenavall Bothy, probably for two nights. This area should be approached in a period of stable weather. It is far too fine an area to just rush in regardless.
