Great view in good weather as far as Rheinhessen, although "unfortunately" only possible due to the heavy deforestation in the wake of a hurricane and the stress of the drought.

I would like to update the older comments a bit:

The top of the mountain is now almost bare. A few of the few trees that are still standing were recently blown down by the wind and have not yet been removed. Nevertheless, it's easy to get to the summit and the view is now fantastic

At 619m, the Kalte Herberge is the highest mountain in the Rheingau. There is only one information board on the mountain and a limited view.

On my third visit to the summit, I found the reconstruction of a historical, main French survey point from 1810 not far from the summit table. The stone commemorates the surveys of Jean Joseph Tranchot. It's worth looking for.
