Coming east from Kleinhennersdorf or Papstdorf is flat and beautifully forested. Different from the west climb. Now and then there are a few stairs to climb.

The Papststein captivates with its breathtaking panoramic view of Saxon Switzerland. From here you have the most beautiful sunset. After a ten-minute ascent, which is illuminated in the dark, you reach the mountain inn and can enjoy the unforgettable view that extends as far as Dresden.

The ascent to the Papststein is well developed, there are various alternatives (from the brisk but steep staircase to the more extensive but less steep step path). Also good for families with children, everything is forested and well developed.

Coming from the direction of Papstdorf or from Kleinhennersdorfer Stein, the long eastern climb is ideal. In the south there are also views of the little village of Papstdorf.

Great hike...we started in Gohrisch, through a great and almost deserted forest. The ascent was relaxed and the descent towards the parking lot at the end was a small highlight.
