It is believed that the name of the estate originally meant Forest of the Pris. In 1596 it was mentioned as a Meierhof, around 200 years later a village was built around the Meierhof.
The original manor house dates from 1634 and was replaced by a neo-baroque building due to a fire in 1902. Gut Priesholz is now privately owned and is used for agriculture. The former farm buildings (old dairy, farm workers' cate) were converted into holiday apartments. The manor house cannot be visited
