    The 365 meter high Metilstein is called Eisenach's local mountain. The Metilstein, also known as Mädelstein, is a prominent mountain in the city of Eisenach. From the summit of the Metilstein you have a picturesque view of the surrounding area, including the castle gate of the famous Wartburg.

      Absolute must-visit POI for anyone who has the Wartburg as their destination or is walking past it.
      From here you have a fantastic view of the Wartburg, the Thuringian Forest, part of the city of Eisenach, and the fraternity monument.
      The climb can be approached from several sides and is definitely worth it!
