Surrounded by fenced pastures, the village is located on the top of a hill dominated by the imposing church. The use of bricks for the walls, slate for the gable roofs, natural stone for the window frames and the corner blocks characterizes the village's architecture.

In order to meaningfully interrupt the simplicity of the built volumes, the slate roofs are the subject of decorative research. And last but not least, the weathercocks dominate the roofs and testify to the ironwork practiced with great talent.

Clermont-sur-Berwinne (Walloon: Clairmont-so-Berwinne, Limburgish: Klaerment op Berwien, literally: Clermont-an-der-Berwinne) has been a district of the Belgian municipality of Thimister-Clermont in the Walloon province of Liège since the municipal merger in 1977. The village was included in the list of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia (Les Plus Beaux Villages de Wallonie). Clermont lies on the Berwinne (Dutch: Berwijn), a small tributary of the Meuse.
The entire town center is worth seeing, but especially the church from 1695 dedicated to Saint James the Greater, the former town hall from 1888 spanning the street, where civil weddings are now often performed, and the "Place des Halles". All that remains of the former castle of the Lords of Clermont is a wall with an archway. A few kilometers outside the town is the manor house “Château Crawhez”, which has remained almost unchanged since it was built in 1551. (Wikipedia)
