When you approach the Bismarck Tower, you first think of a Nazi monumental building. But it is older, it was created at the end of the 19th century. Some wealthy and enlightened citizens had it built to thank Bismarck for joining Bavaria to the German Empire. There are many details to discover, such as beautiful Art Nouveau fonts. And the view is just amazing!

The Bismarck tower near Assenhausen on Lake Starnberg is the only Bismarck monument whose planning and construction began during Bismarck's lifetime and is the only Bismarck monument in Upper Bavaria. He is one of 13 Bismarck towers in Bavaria.
