The 90 hectare Feldafinger Park on the west bank of Lake Starnberg, now used as a recreation area and golf course, has been around for 150 years. King Maximilian II commissioned the planning of this park in 1854 after the design of the Rose Island off the shore had been completed a year earlier. A "second Potsdam" was to be built on Lake Starnberg. The grounds of Sanssouci Palace, which Maximilian had already got to know and appreciate during his student days, served as a model.

A particularly beautiful section right on the shore of Lake Starnberg. The path is peaceful and close to nature, accompanied by magnificent views across the water and, on a clear day, as far as the Alps.
