This place is reminiscent of one of the greatest judicial errors of the 20th century.
Josef Jakubowski, a former prisoner of war of the First World War, remained in the village of Palinger after his release. There he was accused of killing his son.
In one trial, despite numerous contradictions, Jakubowski was sentenced to death by the guillotine and executed in 1926.
However, an investigation by a detective in 1928 revealed that it was not Josef Jakubowski, but the maternal grandmother who had committed the crime with her sons, who confessed to the crime. These were sentenced to prison terms.
To this day Jakubowski has not been posthumously acquitted! 😔
