The ÖTK via ferrata, formerly known as HTL via ferrata, is an extreme via ferrata, but it is interesting for good via ferrata climbers. The path leads up to the left of the sundial wall. The ÖTK via ferrata is (in combination with the Blutspur via ferrata) the most difficult via ferrata in Vienna and after the first ascent in 1998 it was used by Hans Müller and the students of HTL Wr. Neustadt in 2011 taken over by the ÖTK (Austrian Tourist Club) and renovated and somewhat defused in 2016 and 2018.

The ÖTK Steig and the Gebirgsvereinssteig are among the two more difficult via ferratas on the Hohe Wand. The ascent was a while ago for me - I didn't find it too difficult to cope with the difficulty described. In my experience, there are harder via ferratas with the same level of difficulty, but that is always a personal assessment that is also influenced by the current state of the day. I left out the blood trail back then.
All in all, a great via ferrata
