The Waalweg Schenna leads through mixed forests and orchards from Verdins to the Naif valley. The starting point is Verdins, a small village above the entrance to the Passeiertal, which is easily accessible from Schenna. From Verdinser town center, it goes up the Schennaberg, slightly uphill to a crossroads, then it goes gently downhill.
Until you reach the actual Waalweg, which accompanies the irrigation canal, you walk along a beautiful path through the woods and then along a little-used side street, which also leads to the valley station of the Taser Alm cable car. Finally, one always follows the signposts to the Waal. Again and again you can marvel at the view, which opens up to the hiker, at least where the dense deciduous forest allows it. The last section leads into the Naiftal, where the Schennaberg and thus the Waalweg ends. At the valley station of the Ifinger cable car, you can hike back to Schenna on trail no. 15, or take the bus to the starting point.
Note: The Schenner Waalweg is a cozy and largely well-developed hiking trail, which is accessible throughout the year except for the icy winter.
