All nature lovers from the region should have explored the path along the Vecht by bicycle or on foot. You do not want to leave it again;) The mill museum is located directly on the way, especially with children worth the migration of the nearby Dino zoo, a combination of dinosaurs and living animals in the middle of the woods of the Metelener Heide.

"The Vechte town is lovingly described as being worth living in and experiencing. "Metelen has something" - the historic parish church, the burgher's house and "Plagemann's mill with the museum and the newly built fish ladder invite you to visit. The Vechte flows right through the middle of the community and the Vechtetal route to the Netherlands and the Aa-Vechte Tour lead along it. Both tours lead along farm roads, far away from busy roads, but also on "rustic paths" through the typical Münsterland park landscape with its unspoilt floodplains, fields, meadows and beautiful farms."
