The Monastery of Our Lady (also Marienstift or Liebfrauenstift) is a monastery complex in Magdeburg's old town. The building complex is one of the most important Romanesque buildings in Germany. Today the buildings are used as the municipal art museum of the Monastery of Our Lady and concert hall. The monastery is one of the most famous sights in the city. It is located in close proximity to the Magdeburg Cathedral and the city center.
The monastery was founded around 1015 to 1018 by the Archbishop of Magdeburg, Gero, as a collegiate foundation (Marienstift).
