St. Lorenz is a Gothic church building in Nuremberg. The Lorenz Church was the parish church of the medieval core of the settlement south of the Pegnitz in the former imperial city of Nuremberg and forms the urban counterpart to the older Church of St. Sebald in the northern part of the city. Construction of the three-aisled basilica began around 1250, the late Gothic hall choir was completed in 1477. Saint Lorenz is the patron saint of the church. The building, which was severely damaged in the roof and vault during the Second World War, was restored. The very important late-Gothic furnishings were largely preserved through outsourcing.

Since the Reformation, the Lorenz Church, along with the Sebaldus Church, has been one of the two large Protestant city churches in Nuremberg, both of which belong to the Nuremberg Deanery of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria. The Lorenz Church is the seat of Nuremberg's city dean and is where the newly elected regional bishop is traditionally introduced.
