Here the Hörschbach drops over the "Engelhofer Platte", a compact, solid Steinmergelbank about 5 meters in depth. The softer layers of marl underneath provide less resistance to erosion from stream water and are thus removed much faster, creating the beautiful waterfall.

Even in winter when the waterfall partly or sometimes even almost completely freezes and snow is absolutely worth seeing!

The waterfall is easily reached from a parking lot very close by. Of course, he is also very good in touring or Murrhardt involve. And while you're there, do not miss the rest of the Hörschbach gorge. In the gorge, good footwear and sure-footedness are essential.
