The legendary "Roman Festival" took place here from 1925 until the Great Depression in 1929. These festivals, which regularly attract crowds of spectators from near and far, dealt with the life and conflicts of Romans and Teutons at the time of the Limes in the 2nd century AD. Scenes from this great historical era were re-enacted in original costumes and with "Ross und Reiter".
