The wooden sculpture is located directly on the fjord, behind the new town hall. The artist Otto Pilgaard lives and works in Ringkøbing. “Sculptures are sure to amaze you. The interesting only arises when the viewer becomes part of the narrative himself. When you project your own story and your own interpretation into the work, ”says Otto Pilgaard. The sculpture was created at the wood sculpture symposium 2017.

The "Mermaid" by wood artist Otto Pilgaard, created at the 2017 Wood Sculpture Symposium. – Sculptures are allowed to arouse amazement. The interesting thing arises when the viewer himself becomes part of the story. When you project your own story and your own interpretation into the work, Otto Pilgaard tells.
The great thing about sculptures is that you can touch them. You can feel their shape and surface texture. That's how I do it when I work with my wood sculptures; I see with my hands, says the artist Otto Pilgaard, who i.a. organized the annual wood sculpture symposium in Ringkøbing.
