After many years of peat mining, the Vehnemoor is now increasingly wet again. Some areas are still under cultivation before being added to the NSG in the coming years. Here you come across a kind of lake landscape, through which you can walk on paths that are covered with moor grass and partly Heath overgrown, can roam through. Birch trees have tried to settle in some places, but they are obviously deliberately kept short or cut off. The moorland is particularly impressive because of its simplicity and breadth and not so much because of its botanical diversity. This is precisely why it stands out from its surroundings and thus becomes a special attraction. You feel like you are in a different landscape.
