The 55 meter long and 11 meter high construction replaces a small wooden bridge over the Klausbach, which stood here and had to be rebuilt almost every year after floods, small rock falls and avalanches.

To catch the last of the daylight, we had to hurry a little. The signposted hour of walking is calculated very generously and can easily be completed in 40-50 minutes. Due to the small time pressure we didn't have the opportunity to take pictures of the path ourselves, but when we arrived at the top, the short intermediate sprint paid off.

If you are afraid of heights: this bridge is not dramatically high! For everyone else: great views, sometimes with and without water in the river. But you can also head towards Austria without crossing the bridge, there is a bus and you can also walk or cycle on this road.

The Klausbach is a partly developed torrent and the main headwaters of the Ramsauer Ache, which runs for the most part in the Berchtesgaden National Park and leaves it at the level of the Hintersee.
The valley is wonderful for relaxed hiking/walking, the suspension bridge and the information points of the national park are well worth seeing.

The hiking trails around the suspension bridge, which was built in 2010, are great. You have wonderful views of the surrounding mountains as well as the mountain stream below. Very easy to reach from the Hintersee for beginners.
