Assmannshausen is a district of Rüdesheim, which is wedged in a spectacular hillside location directly between the Rhine and the steep slope of the western Taunus. Opposite, Rheinstein Castle sits enthroned on a slope that already belongs to the Hunsrück. In contrast to most of the vineyards in the Rheingau, which are known for Riesling among other things, here in Assmannshausen mainly fine red wine is produced. The paths above the village are perfect for cycling with a panoramic view. Those who like it more relaxed can use the cable car.
