The Vicelinkirche in Neumünster is one of the most important classical church buildings in Schleswig-Holstein. It was consecrated in 1834 and stands on the foundations of an older church from the 12th century. The plans for the construction of the church were drawn up by the royal Danish building director Christian Friedrich Hansen. It was built with yellow brick between 1829 and 1834. From the almost 40 meter high tower you can see the whole city with its sea of houses, the old factories, but also the many green gardens and parks.

The Vicelin Church, built in 1834 by C.F. Hansen, is an important ecclesiastical monument of classicism.

The previous church on the same site, built in 1147 by Vicelin, the missionary and first bishop of Ostholstein, was demolished in 1811 due to dilapidation.

The Vicelinkirche in Neumünster (built 1829–1834) is located in the southeast of the oldest settlement core of Kleinflecken. The little river Schwale makes an arch there, in the middle of which rises the impressive building, the landmark of the city of Neumünster. The gallery hall church is considered to be the most important classical church building in Schleswig-Holstein. The design comes from the Copenhagen chief building director Christian Frederik Hansen.
Beautifully simple in white and gray inside.
