The current Euchenholz cross on the summit is now the 4th renewed wooden cross.
According to the records, it was renewed in 1866, 1913 and finally in 1988.

The Kapellenberg is 255 m high. From here you have a beautiful view of Ebersbach and up to the Landeskrone. At the northern edge of the forest you can of course look at Kunnersdorf.
The most striking feature of the Chapel Hill is the commemorative cross commemorating the fortunately not taken place here during the Napoleonic war. However, the cross is not exposed, you can not see it well from a distance.
There was also a windmill there, which burned down as early as the 19th century. However, the tower had stopped and was blown up in 1975. The debris remained lying and today form a small almost completely overgrown hill.
Finally, there is a system of trenches in the area above the path, which were created in 1945, because they had expected fighting in this area.
South of the Kapellenberg there is even a small vineyard.
All in all, the Kapellenberg is well worth a visit or a place for a longer break, especially when traveling with children. In my experience, kids up there always have a lot of fun.
