Historically very interesting is the Roman road of Mauternbach, even though it is difficult to commit due to their grooves and bumps, just because it was also covered with leaves during our visit. An archaeological investigation commissioned by the Federal Monuments Office, in 2016 part of the road was uncovered, brought interesting findings: The route was not only beaten into the rock with great effort, but also shows conspicuous car marks. Probably dating back to Roman times, the road was in use until modern times. "
