Natural monument between Rentrisch and Sengscheid (districts of St. Ingbert) was already a place of worship in the Neolithic Age, as evidenced by archaeological finds (stone axes, arrowheads, millstones).
There should also be a connection to the Spellenstein (menhir or menhir) from Rentrisch. The tip of the boot points to the 1300m
distant Spellenstein (5m high, 20-25 t heavy), which dates from the 18th century before Christianity and is associated with death cults.
In the Middle Ages there was a castle around the boot, which some remains of the wall still testify.

I drove from Quierschied via Schnappach and Rohrbacher Weiher to Niederwürzbacher Weiher. Then Hofgut Hochscheid to boot. Then back through the Grumbachtal via Saarbrücken-Rußhütte. Class tour over 72km.
