It is a wayside cross from 1835, which, however, had a predecessor from 1445.
At that time this cross was supposed to protect the country and its people from the rigors of nature and at the same time served as a place of prayer for God's blessing for a good harvest. Today's wayside cross, made of sandstone, rests on a base with neo-Gothic shapes and bears an inscription. The arched niche is striking. The newer cross is made of metal. Because of the centuries-old tradition, this cross - also known as the hail cross - should be preserved and cared for.
