The route between Liège and Aachen will soon (as of 2019) become part of the European long-distance cycle route network “EuroVelo” and D-Route 7. Where freight trains used to puff through the foothills of the Ardennes, you can now glide relatively flat by bike. Only between Hombourg and Aachen, where the railway line is still in operation, you won't be spared the mountains. But the look at the border triangle is worth the sweat.
