At high water levels, as now in summer, the Rhine pulls behind the waterfall with irrepressible force. The brave jump into the river and can be carried down for miles. The very brave swim even into the middle of the river into the current, where the river really gives gas.

The lazy or dumbfounded take after the descent (or departure with the glass elevator) of Schloss Laufen the boat and set over, all the others make this dangling along the banks of the Rhine behind the waterfall. Immediately on the water leads the way, on the slope side it is woody and there is a lot to look at.
Bold swimmers let the really overwhelming current carry them down the river and have a lot of fun doing so. A Flussbadeanstalt beckons, the water has now here in midsummer 21 °, which is seductive.
The bridge that leads us back to the parking lot via Nohl is not far either.

A hike along the Rhine to Nohl and briefly on German territory is particularly beautiful; on the way back you can pass Schloss Laufen (on the other side of the Rhine) and hike from there to Schaffhausen. A kind of circular hike that always leads nicely along the water - even to "abroad". In addition, it is a kind of cross-canton hiking, since one part of the hike runs on Schaffhausen soil, the other on Zurich territory. Beautiful in every season.
