The cycle path along the canal is very well laid out. It offers a bucolic setting on its banks. You will come across a few cycle tourists who have also come to enjoy the Via Francigena.

Here the Canal l'atéral de la Marne and the Marne itself come very close. Between the two there is then almost only the bike path.

The cycle path along the canal is well developed and absolutely flat! Highlights are the tranquil Chalons-en-Champagne (formerly Chalons-sur-Marne) and the busier Épernay. At Condé-sur-Marne you can also follow the "Canal de la Marne à l'aisne" in the direction of Reims.
