Somehow a magical place with a great view (for the altitude). Unfortunately, you can't see the Pech de Bugarach at this point because of the forest. However, you can see this peak earlier on the eastern ascent route. Caution! The direct route on the Komoot maps from the south is overgrown and barely visible. I wanted to take it on the descent at dusk and turned back. In contrast, the longer, partially signposted route, initially along wide tracks and finally along a path from the east, is clear and easy to follow.

To be honest, it's just a "small highlight" because there are so many great places to discover here on the northern edge of the Pyrenees! The path leads along the east side of the river, even if the exact location on the Komoot maps is not quite correct. The "rest area" marked there is also likely to be on this side of the river, as there is dense forest opposite. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Be careful, the paths and rocks are very slippery in wet weather. If you've come this far, you should walk a few more meters to the 2 red springs.

Nice pass in the Corbières massif between Clemont-sur-Lauquet and Labastide-en-Val. From Labastide-en-Val, the climb is gentle 5.6 km with 557 meters of elevation gain and an average gradient of 5.7%.

Abandoned thermal baths by the roadside just before the village of Rennes Les Bains. Nearby there is still the possibility to bathe in hot spring waters. Bugarach is also very close.
