Frévent is a municipality in the Pas-de-Calais department. It is an agricultural town located in the valley of the Canche River. Frévent is a very ancient city, recognized by the Counts of St. Pol in 1218. The prestigious Abbey of Cercamp was founded in 1137 and welcomed François 1er in 1537 and ambassadors of the kings of France, England and Spain in 15582. In the 19th century, Baron Fourment turned Frévent into an industrial city with spinning, wool and flax factories and agricultural machinery.
