Conveniently located refuge between the Caranca Gorge and the further ascent to the main Pyrenees ridge. One dormitory was open in October 2024.

Igloo-style shelter built with layered stones, with a tiny entrance and surprisingly spacious interior. Unfortunately, the interior smells of human waste. Despite the great location on the long-distance trail and just below the ridge, it's more of a visual highlight... If the weather is stable, I'd rather spend the night outside the hut than inside.

Located on the banks of the Carança River and at the crossroads of the GR 10, Spain and the Carança Gorges, the refuge enjoys a privileged location. Ideal for stopping over. During the guarding period, from mid-May to mid-September, the refuge provides 13 beds in dormitories, a catering service, showers and toilets. Campers can also pitch their tent near the refuge. It is a mandatory port for anyone who wants to visit Upper Cerdanya by bicycle. On the southern slope it is very affordable; However, the charm of this port is on the northern slope, the one that goes up from Olette. It has all the incentives for good cycle tourism.

To spend a good night. Be careful where you leave the food, the little neighbors like to try not only Manchego cheese.

The shelter now has light (2023). Comfortable place to spend the night with the noise of the river in the background. They have very delicious vegan options for food. There are no showers, to clean yourself there is a stream of very cold water next to it. You can sleep inside or they can provide you with a tent to spend the night outside if you prefer more privacy. The workers are very available and friendly.
