Ridden in Gravel, well loaded: it's fine, but you don't have to be in a hurry! From the Conques refuge, no walls that are too steep, but lots and lots of stones. You can hear (and maybe see?) the marmots. The breathtaking views along the way will not make you regret a single drop of sweat! However, be careful of cows which can block the path, especially if they have young ones.

The Col de Jou peaks at an altitude of 1,125 meters. It is a well-known rallying point for local hikers. Indeed, the GR 10 passes through there, and it is the starting point for many hikes including the one that connects Canigou peak.

Passage point for different peaks and routes. Alert with fog. I recommend firm footwear.

Very busy hill because it is on the way to climb emblematic peaks such as Bastiments, Gra de Fajol or to access the Vall de Núria, Coma de Fresers, Coma de Vaca, Noucreus, among others.

Collado at 1,906 m. that separates the boundaries of the municipalities of Molló and Setcases (Ripollès). Through this hill, the mountain road that goes from Setcases to Espinavell crosses and, right on the hill, there is a small car park since it is the departure point of the normal route to reach the top of Costabona on the southern slope

The Col de Jou is the starting point for the hike to the Mariaille refuge and the mythical Pic du Canigou by the fireplace. It is also the obligatory passage to reach the Tower of Goa with a 360 ° view

Pass on the GR10. From here either continue on the GR10 in the direction of Canigou or turn off to Vernet-le-Bains (very pretty mountain village). Pass is accessible by car. Parking available. Tour to the highlight: https://www.komoot.de/tour/340851629?ref=itd

Beautiful neck that connects Setcases with Espinavell. The track on both sides is in good condition. Ideal for gravel bikes. It is also an important point to start several excursions, the most typical: the Costabona.

Typical port of the region and Catalonia. End of stage of several editions of the Tour of Catalonia. Busy for skiers and mountaineers in winter and cyclists and hikers the rest of the year. The part above has a series of very beautiful and aesthetic "lacets".

An uphill ride that is just about feasible with a touring bike, even if it can be seen as a challenge. From Prats de Mollo, the route climbs over 1517 m to 2252 m and, as a special difficulty, the road is not paved in the upper third. Here the name "Roques-Blanches" definitely makes sense, because it goes uphill on white gravel and up to 10-12% steep. Barely mobile, even with luggage, but in no case recommended for narrow racing bike tires - and those who want to enjoy the descent are definitely better served with an MTB. Nevertheless, the pass also offers spectacular views and everyone can finally drive over mountains on fine asphalt ;-).
