It's a real shame that the building is falling into such disrepair.

I passed by there on my tour: https://www.komoot.com/de-de/tour/2449556138 The fog on the mountains is sometimes beautiful to look at. I see it sometimes while driving and sometimes while cycling.

From 1869 to 1908, the brickworks was owned by the Möller family. The industrialization of Schleswig-Holstein with large factory buildings and the construction of numerous Prussian administrative buildings led to a great demand for bricks. In Elmshorn, numerous buildings were built with bricks from Lieth, e.g. the tower of St. Nikolai Church (1881), the Assmussen malt factory, the riding and driving school (1894), today's Bismarck School (1895), the water tower (1902).

The Liether Kalkgrube is located in the Pinneberg district, east of the town of Klein Nordende. It is a former opencast mine that was closed in 1986. The area was designated as a nature reserve in 1991 and designated a “National Geotope” in 2006. (Source: Wikipedia)
