The Romanesque Priory of Serabonna (founded in 1082) is a masterpiece of sculpture. Good and evil clash on the capitals. The building materials, such as marble, slate, and iron, came from the surrounding area.

You can eat, drink, and refill water there. A beautiful bivouac environment.

Very friendly refuge. A warm welcome, good food, comfortable and clean rooms, and reasonable rates. Perfect for recharging your batteries during a long hike in the magnificent Canigou massif.

Beautiful hut with good food

There are still bed bugs (punaises de lit) in this cabin. We don't sleep here. There are also mice living in the cabin - at least there is droppings on the beds and we saw a few around. Luckily there is just enough space between the well and the table for a two-person tent. Not ideal, but better than sleeping inside 😀

There is water here.

Prat Cabrera is a beautiful high altitude meadow which serves as pasture. Up there, among the fir trees and green lawns, you can enjoy a 180-degree view of the Roussillon plain to the east and towards the (hidden) Canigou to the west. Very beautiful mid-mountain atmosphere.

The small town, located in the heart of the Canigou massif, has a remarkable natural heritage: a Natura 2000 site and two natural areas of ecological, fauna and flora interest. This small village has accommodation if you wish to spend the night there.
