It is possible to do it with a mountain bike or gravel bike starting either from Villeneuve or from Montesquieu or from Boulou

The shelter offers basic accommodation, with bunk beds and essential services for hikers. It is an ideal place to rest during long hiking routes. It also has a kitchen and a dining room where visitors can prepare their meals.

It was built by the Lords of Saint Cristau, who later took the name of Montesquieu. The keep forms an imposing building with a width of 16 metres and a length of 22 metres. The castle was protected by a wall 12 m high. From the top you have a great view of the plains of the region.

Nice and shaded hike on 2/3 from a departure of the pass perfect for a family outing. The point of view is splendid canigou on one side, sea on the other. The rocky and alpine summit contrasts with the more forested approach.
